It could have been a peaceful and happy life in Troyes, a provincial town with an undisputed cultural heritage. Dominique, the father, was passionate about Troyes' heritage and his wife Monique was a teacher with an exquisite taste for decoration. Their two children, Thierry and Agnès, followed a traditional curriculum... But this was without counting on the head of the family's enthusiasm for building and communicating. One day, he decided to renovate the houses adjoining his own. He would finally be able to live out his dreams and start what would become a family affair.

In fact, it was a 15th-century timber-framed building in a precarious state of repair that Dominique Boisseau bought with the help of his father André in 1975. He immediately fell in love with its exceptional framework, which can now be seen in the Suite Médiévale. It was then that he decided to go ahead with his crazy project: to build his family nest and the first hotel adjacent to it at the same time.

Working at Champ des Oiseaux and Maison de Rhodes is a privilege, which is why Adelia, Laura, Isabelle, Brigitte, Simonette and Sujith have stayed for so many years. You don't leave such establishments, on the contrary. The family spirit is also evident here.

As a member of the Teritoria community of hoteliers and restaurateurs, our team at La Maison de Rhodes & Le Champ des Oiseaux is deeply committed to three principles of sincere and sustainable hospitality: reducing our carbon footprint, ensuring the well-being of our staff, and helping to protect biodiversity.

To achieve this, we have taken a number of steps:

- The introduction of "Affichage Environnemental" (AE): AE aims to assess and communicate to customers the main environmental impacts of our hotels, using a label that provides transparent, quantified information, based on the night spent by the customer (environmental impacts of one night's stay in a hotel).
